Captive Resources appoints chief underwriting officer

Captive Resources has appointed veteran captive insurance executive Terry McCafferty as its chief underwriting officer. 

McCafferty was chief executive officer of Falls Lake Insurance Companies in Raleigh Durham, North Carolina from 2018 until the end of 2023 and joined Captive Resources this month. Falls Lake is part of the James River group of insurance companies. 

"I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Underwriting Officer at Captive Resources, LLC!" McCaffrey said on his LinkedIn page. Captive Resources is based in Itasca, Illinois. 

Prior to joining Falls Lake, McCaffrey spent 12 years at Zurich insurance Company where he was senior vice president and head of group captives and alternative risk from 2015 to 2018. 

Previously he was a vice president at Farmers Insurance in Los Angeles, California.
