NFP Property appoints SVP, risk and claims consulting

NFP Property, Risk and Claims Consulting as appointed veteran risk manager and captive insurance company leader Jon Huxel to be senior vice president, risk and claims consulting. 

Huxel, who has been in the risk management sector for more than 30 years, was previously vice president and risk manager for NFP, a position he had held since 2014. He was appointed SVP in March, according to his LinkedIn page. 

Prior to that he was general manager, risk financing for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey from 2002 until 2013. 

Huxel has been a captive officer and chief underwriter, serving as captive secretary and sole underwriter for all insurance coverages placed by his employer's insurance captive insurance company. 

He said he directed the daily operations of the captive through staff supervision and guidance, including the review and payment of all claims and he helped to save entity over $100 million in premium over a six-year period.
